I became a governor because I am passionate about creating opportunities for young people and ensuring that they have access to a good education. I also believe that it is important to our village to have a good school at its core.
I live in the village and have two children, both at the school.
I began my career in an engineering role, however I moved into learning and development over 10 years ago. My initial focus on entry level talent (apprentice and graduate development) within the energy sector and more latterly in a group level talent role at an international engineering services company. I am a director, honorary treasurer and chair of the nomination, remuneration and governance committee at the Institute for Student Employers. I am also on the advisory panel of the 5% Club, which is an employer movement with over 300 members, aiming to increase 'earn while you learn' opportunities for young people.
