Current term of office: 16/3/17 to 14/3/21
Register of business interest: none
I joined the governing body in 2013, initially as a Parent Governor.
In my role as a governor I am committed to ensuring that we create a safe and ambitious learning environment that enables every child to reach their full potential. I have high expectations of everyone working with our children and believe that working in partnership with parents and carers is an important part of enabling our children to succeed. I look forward to continuing our drive to achieve the best possible outcomes for our children.
I have lived with my family in Sutton On Trent for the last 15 years and value the community spirit and local businesses that we are fortunate to have here.
My working life started with the Ministry of Defence, and then moved into operational management with an engineering recruitment company in the North West. Working within the engineering and distribution sectors, I was responsible for overseeing the management of multiple branches throughout the North West, the Midlands and the South West. I have considerable experience of logistical planning, auditing, recruitment and staff development. After a career break, I now work for the Local Authority, providing therapeutic support to children and young people.
Outside of work, I have a love of cars, music, sport and travel. In particular I enjoy watching Formula 1, going to concerts and travelling as often as I can.
I am also an LA governor at Holgate Primary School in Hucknall and Sutton Road Primary School in Mansfield.
